Elvis Costello

I really want to go see Elvis Costello on April 22nd in DC.  (Just have to spring the money for it.)  The guy is absolute genius.  It’s been stated many times that anyone woman a guy knows can be summed up in an Elvis Costello song.  That’s very true – at least of his first few albums.  Like Dylan, Costello had very little remorse for his early targets, but unlike Dylan the Attractions provided the musical menace behind him.  He is also one of the few artists in rock and roll that can take on any particular genre and make it sound legitimate – soul (Get Happy!!), country (King of America) punk (This Year’s Model) jazz (parts of Imperial Bedroom and The River in Reverse).
