I’ve been obsessed with music for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, like many aspiring (and professional) rock critics, I can’t play an instrument.  So I created Leading Us Absurd as an outlet for my musical obsessions.  My musical tastes are pretty varied I’d say – though I tend to gravitate to music from the early to mid 60’s and the new wave post-punk era – artists such as Bob Dylan, the Beatles, Van Morrison, The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, The Band, Ray Charles, and Sam Cooke being among my favorites.   If I come off as a music snob that’s probably because I am – but I also have a soft spot for guilty pleasures as well.

By day I’m a writer/web-editor for a university and if you’re interested in my professional work, feel free to send me an email.

Thanks again for reading.

Songs about New York! You must check out In The City by Milton. WVUF played it to the city when electricity was finally restored after the black out. Milton is all about Dylan, Van Morrison, Leonard Cohen and Nick Lowe. You’d probably dig him overall…

  5. Hey your taste in music is awesome. If you have the time please check out my blog http://heartshapedmusic.com/ . I’m just starting out but I do album reviews, gig reviews, music news, etc.

    Thanks for your time

  6. Hey, I just randomly came across your blog. Love it! My brother and I have a music blog too but we feature music videos and live stuff and then talk about how it relates to us or how it inspires both music lovers and musicians. If you get a chance, please check it out! We’re still fairly new and haven’t gotten really out there on the web yet.

  7. I just came across your blog. Your music knowledge is very impressive, and I play drums in a blues band. I know you’ve probably done this list, but how bout the top 10 songs of the 1980’s. Roxy Music, baby. Hell, you could do a list just on them alone. I just started my blog at http://www.thewannabemoviecritic.wordpress.com. I write screenplays. I’ll keep an eye on your blog. Excellent work.

  8. I’m excited to see your list of the top ten artists of the last decade. I just started a music blog. I’m playing a song a day for my yet-to-be-born child and blogging to him about it. Check it! http://ultrasoundsmixtape.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit-comments.php
