I absolutely love “Heroes”. Apparently, so artists love to cover it as well. Here’s three different artist putting their spin on the Bowie classic.
TV On The Radio:
Arcade Fire:
The Wallflowers:
While all of them are good, I prefer TV On The Radio’s the best – I think it captures the experimental feeling of the original the best.
I recently got the re-mastered Station to Station album, which reminded me how brilliant Bowie really is. I feel ashamed that I NEEDED reminding of his greatness to begin with. Cool versions. I must be the only person on the planet who does not get Arcade Fire. No matter how many awards and best album lists they appear on- I still cannot warm up to them….
Thanks for the comment. I actually haven’t listened to “Station to Station” sadly…though I do like the Berlin Trilogy quite a bit. There’s more Bowie albums I need to get, so I’ll add that to my list. As for Arcade Fire, I’m surprised you don’t like them if you like Bowie…”Funeral” is heavily Bowie influenced.
